Winner of the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the Drama Desk Award and the Tony Award for Best Play, Proof  focuses on Catherine, the daughter of a recently deceased mentally ill mathematical genius.  When, among the notebooks he left behind is found a mathematical proof of a theorem that had been thought impossible, Catherine claims to have written it herself.  But can she prove it?  As the mystery develops, the play explores the link between genius and madness and whether either or both can be inherited.
